The "I Got Them!!" Challenge

Ok, we know you want to say it. So who can say “I got the new HD channels!” in the most creative way?

Our judge will be none other than MC (Master of Creativity) Stuart Sweet.

Some basic ground rules: No huge pictures please! Keep the post smaller than the height of your name block on the left. Remember, this is a family oriented site. Be creative

Ready, set, go!

(This thread will be closed in a few days. After all, everyone got it at the same time! )

An officer pulls over a driver for going 45 in a 15 MPH school zone and eventually decides to issue a $500 speeding citation. As the offcer is explaining the citation, the violator breaks into tears, saying the end of the world is here, yadda, yadda.

At that point the officer tells the violator, it's not that bad, I do have some good news. The violator asks, "what's that?" The officer responds "I just got my new HD channels this morning from DTV."

What did you think I was going to say, I saved a lot of money by switching to Geico?

Althogh I'm the hypothetical officer in this post, I would never actually say that to a violator, but I did get my HD finally!! WooHoo.

Satellite connected to the slimline dish...
Slimline dish connected to the multiswitch (Zinwell of course...)...
Zinwell conncted to the B-Band Converter....
B-Band Converter conncted to the HR-20...
HR-20 conncted to the Plasma....

What do you get.....

GREAT NEW HD CHANNELS!!!!!

THANKS DIRECTV and THANKS DBSTALK DIRECTV Members for the great ride over the last 6 months. The day has finally come and there will now be nothing to talk about other than hearing others say.....

"Im not getting my channels... I want credit"
"This is HD Lite not HD"
"When are we going to get xyz feature"
"Dish has xyz... Im going to switch"
"There is a tree in the way and I can't see 103b"

Probably not very creative but hopeful will give a couple of laughes...

I actually dreamed that I had them, but woke up. I then turned my TV on and they were there! True story.

I was up at 5 and looked, turned off the TV, fixed coffee and then thought, check again.

Was all set to be disappointed, but WOW! Mythbusters in HD was worth the wait!!!

Glad I left cable and the "yoyo satellite company!" And now my wife will quit asking me "and why did we change?"

Cool! I turned on the TV just after 6a here in Atlanta. Didn't realize I was one of the first to get to see them! They look great.

Also happy to say the Atlanta market is getting the 247 - TBSHD channel. I was a bit concerned we wouldn't get it here in Atlanta since we had only gotten the local TBS but as of this morning 247HD is working for me too.

Glad I am off work today, so much for doing anything else!

I woke up this morning
Turned on my TV
And what in my two bleary eyes dd I see
But beautiful new channels
In glorious HD
Staring right back at me!

Disclaimer - While the WNC SWA-48 works perfectly well for me for the new HD channels this specific make and model multiswitch is not approved by DirecTV. Neither is the diplexing of OTA and SAT signals on a single coax line but with the proper placement of the BBC, that works just fine for me as well. YMMV

I was sleeping and suddenly I heard my TV turn on. I rushed downstairs to find my dog watching the Animal Planet in HD. I heard him say, "Wow, do you see that poodle?"

Hardly creative, but I was at the TV at 6:00 AM tuned to CNN, waiting for it to blossom into HD....and it didn't. Came here to see the avalance of complaints...but saw posts of the launch! Huh?

Oh, yeah. Forgot to change "My Favorites to the HD versions of the channels".

[Sound of me hitting myself in the head] "Doh, I coulda had an HD".
