How come E*'s subforums are split 3 ways (hardware, programming, release notes) and D*'s subforums are all piled under programming...

Because that is how we decided to organize it?

And everything isn't under programming....

It is under Products and Services (and there is a 2nd section for official release notes)

Programming is under Products and Services
With DoD under Programming/Services

Why (old school "how come" ;)) aren't D* users using the D* forums? There are many D*-specific topics in the general interest forums, especially HDTV Programming (unless this has already been merged into TV Show Talk?) and Computers & Gadgets.

Well... I honestly didnt think this would fit in the 'General' section in the D* subforum, and obviously where I put it wasnt right either because it still got moved! (lol).

Meanwhile, Yes, this also couldve been phrased "Why are D* subforms not split the same way as D* subforums" / visa versa

My comment was not at all directed to this thread being in Forum Support. It could have been in the D* General area, but here also seems a natural fit.

I moved this thread here, as it was in General..

As this is not about "DirecTV".. but on how the Forum is run, thus it belongs.... here
