I tried searching, but didn't see exactly the answer I was seeking. I got a HR20-100S, but wondering what are all the possible sub-models for the HR 20? I have seen mentioend HR20-700, 600, etc, etc.

Briefly can someone summarize the different HR 20 submoldels, what they stand for and what are the differences?

Is the sub model desingation a factor of the date it was made, where made, original manufacturer, software updates or what?

Which is the best?

Thanks for the info. I was lucky enough to get the HR 20 that I requested on install because of the OTA, so trying to use the forums to bone up on it.

There are only two HR20 makers: the PACE -700 and the RCA -100.
They can run the same software, but since it's still being developed, the version will vary.
The -100 came out after the -700 and has a coax audio output that the -700 doesn't.

The HR20-700 came out in August 2006. The HR20-100 was I believe January 2007 and the HR21-700 was about two months ago.

Thanks Mike. I did not realize that there was such a large time gap between the releases.

To be completely clear, the HR20-100 is manufactured by Thomson, which also manufactures electronics under the RCA name.
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect
