will this control my receiver ie my back speakers or sub-woofer?
What I'm asking is will it do everything my receiver's remote will do?

If you're referring to the RM-AV300, yes, it should. It's a learning remote, and you enter the codes for your components. Anything else you want it to do, as long as the original remote does it, you can teach it to the Sony. I've had mine for about two months, and it's pretty cool. The ability to create macros is the unit's best feature. Beware though: there's a steep learning curve, and the manual isn't the best at explaining things. Go to remotecentral.com for forums and reviews on this and other remotes.
