1080i broadcast probably pre-compressed at the source using a lossy algorithm. I live right by the place and both OTA and MPEG-4 were bad. The rain didn't help either.
The OTA analog feed was also bad with compression.

Most of NBC HD programming has lots of quick bright flashes in the picture. No idea if this is a local NBC affiliate issue or on D*'s side. We already know NBC's HD package, overall, is lacking in PQ.

TVs: 2 Panasonic Plasma TV's each using HDMI (one 1080p/one 720p)
DirecTV customer since 1998. Plus HD DVR package w/ NHL Center Ice & MLB Extra Innings.
OTA Antenna: Homebrew UHF & VHF antennas w/ 30dB amplifier fed w/ RG-6 Quad-shield coax.

Picture quality on WGRZ-DT on cable was pretty decent, compared to how SNF normally looks, but not as good as Fox or CBS. The Bills game looked awesome by comparison. Especially the end :D Thanks for not knowing the rules of the game Mr. Hall of Famer!

I just couldn’t stand reverting to SD for the weather warnings. THIS IS BUFFALO, NY WE KNOW THE WEATHER!!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t interrupt my HD football ever again!
