I am just wondering about the new HD Extra.

Has everyone been informed by D* that there is going to be this service change with a "price increase"?

I have never received anything from D*(snail mail, email, etc) to inform me about this change. If I did not come to dbstalk I would never know.

Has anyone else out there not be informed by D*?

Is there anything you are going to do if you loose these channels on the 15th and were not told about it?

Got the HD mailer a couple months ago with the placard that listed out all the HD channels and it highlighted the HD Extra pack. Plus it's plastared all over their web site, kinda hard to miss.

Not really much we can do. You can complain to them, and/or vote with your wallet by not subscribing to that package. At the end of the day, it is their company, and they can do what they want. I'm not going to bother subscribing to this new package.

I got neither phone call, e-mail or any other message. If it makes a difference (and I don't think it does), I'm on one of the grandfathered plans (Total Choice?).

I have not heard from DirecTV. I'm billed through Verizon so I never seem to get mailings from DirecTV. If not for this forum I would have no idea a change was coming. I think the CSR's will be getting an awful lot of calls after 12/15 by irate subscribers wondering why they no longer receive those channels.

I haven't received anything from Directv about it, but as usual, I rely on this site for news more than Directv.

If it weren't for this website, I'd have no idea.

I rarely go to D*'s website. And must not have been there since they posted it, cause I've never noticed it.

I'm sure Directv can't wait to get their hands on your unit.

Also... you will NOT be added automatically to the HD Extra Pack.

YOU MUST ADD IT TO YOUR PROGRAMMING... if you want to continue with the package.
