About a week ago I def-ragged my harddrive a number of times using the windowsxp defrag tool. I am a total idiot with computers so please be kind. Now I turn on computer and it boots to a screen that shows what past on loading and gives 2 options. F1 to boot and F10 settings for Bio. When I hit F1 it starts to load quickly then slows way down and the hard drive starts spinning. Then in about 30 seconds it speeds up briefly and give me the normal option screen. I click on MSN and then my loggin all is normal, until it starts to dial. Then the flapping wing stops for another 30 seconds. Then starts again and dials in. I don't know if this is another symptom but the sound that comes on when windows starts sounds like an echo and the sound is the same when I hit my login to net button. Anyone know how to help or what I did?????????????????

Try a System Restore. It might not work but it's certainly worth a shot. Make sure you restore to a date and time that is prior to when you did the Defragment.

Good Luck..........
