We switched to DirecTV and got a $20 a month discount for 24 months. I called SA cancelled as of today and they are not going to charge me for this past week's viewing. She again confirmed that as of April 1st SA DBS will be no longer. Hope everyone else has a good transition to whatever they decide on after SA DBS is gone.

We switched too....

I did not go with Sky Angel IPTV due to the fact that they discontinued it in Canada and didn't inform their customers.

I did not go with Dish Network either. I called four times today, two techs hung up on me and no one would waive 99.00 to re-point the satellite. I called a local distributor and it would be 75.00.

So I called DirectTV and choose the Family Package with local programming its a 18 month contract. I didn't get anything extra. This will be 29.99 + tax and there are a few more channels than Dish Family. DirectTV will be here next week the 29th free installation and free receiver. I just chose the regular receiver no bells and whistles.

DISH Network is definately "missing the boat" by not trying to get all the Sky Angel customers that are considering their service. They should give Sky Angel customers the same deals that they are giving new customers. Clearly, someone in marketing has their head up thier ....

We did the DVR so we could record our shows during the day when our child is awake and watch them at night and record her shows at night and play them during the day when she is awake. So far we love it. I hope your installation is smooth!

Dish has been quick to wheel and deal me. I dunno if it's because I'm already a customer, but Dish has started knocking 10 dollars a month off my bill. Besides that, they are waiving my DVR fee through the rest of my contract and providing me with FREE locals for 18 months. Of course, I'm really good about playing companies against eachother. They found out that the rest of my family got a better deal from DirecTV and were ready to beat their price. I cancelled with Sky Angel but was never disconnected. I guess they are just going to continue to beam the programming to me until they switch off the uplink. This has been several months ago. Oh well, for now, Dish still has me as a customer and Sky Angel seems to think that their programming is not worth me paying for, since the service was never shut off. They won't return my emails or my phone calls so I'm not going to try anymore.

If you are referring to my new Dish Contract, yes, they faxed me a paper copy which I signed and faxed back to them. Otherwise it was no deal and i was going with DirecTV.

Is you are referring to Sky Angel not shutting me off, then that is not in writing. Since they stopped billing me and the service is still on, I'm just assuming they don't care anymore since the signal going to be gone soon anyway. Dish Network said they have not received a request to shut off my current dominion programming and won't do so until they request it or the uplink is turned off.

Well hello everyone.... we have Directv. We signed up for the family package but upgraded the day it got installed with the Choice program and was able to get it for the same price as the family package for 12 months. 20.00 off, 10.00 immediately and 10.00 in a rebate which will be applied once in there system. I am sure some of you noticed that tax is charged on the actual price not the discounted price at least it is in PA.

I had no problem with Sky Angel cancellation nor charging me another month. Since I was a Dish Customer in 2000 we still had an account with them so I had to cancel that account too. Well after we went with Directv the account specialist with Dish wanted to talk turkey I told he was too late that they should of did that when I called earlier.

Our installation went great on the 2nd, the technician even took down the old dish for us. I was amazed that he was able to get a signal for us since we have so many trees. He was so friendly and very professional.

I can say our only complaint is the menu guide print is very small we would like it bigger. Or a different color its hard to read. Can this be changed?
