We were Lifetime subscribers to SkyAngel, but SkyAngel opted to remove their programming from satellite and place it on the internet and start charging a monthly subscription no longer honoring our lifetime subscrption.

So, God led me to find most of the SkyAngel TV programming on the internet that is streamed 100% free. The remaining channels are on our Dish Network programming.

I was wanting to do the same thing! I realized that most channels that I would watch are free over the internet and wondered if I could some how, some way use my television as a monitor. We have a pretty old tv, though.

If you have a newer TV it should be pretty easy. The Liberty Channel is the one we will want to watch on the internet since it's not on other satellites or our local cable company.

Sky angel is charging a lot of $ for channels that are FTA and/or available online. I guess you pay for convenience. glorystar.tv has many of those available as well.

thanks for the info, did you write SA and let them know your thoughts.

to my thinking, regardless of the way the signal reaches you, a lifetime membership is for life.

I think if they were taken to court the judge would side with the subscribers

I am intigued with this idea. I am ready to by the DSM 520 at Circuit City. But I need advice. Are you saying this device will stream the channels to the TV Set?

Can this be done using wireless? What is the picture quality? Does the computter have to be on? How do you change "channels".

Thanks

Please ad any details you think I will need.

The DSM uses a Web tv based style service....
YOu just put in the url of the site you want to view.....
it can go wireless from a router to the box...
is capable of 720 p or 1080i ....
handles WMV, MPEG 4, Divx..... AVI,

Runs off a media server....
also can stream video from your computer the box.....
also music and pics....

this is a 10 times better alternitive...
has over 200 christian radio channels.
is albe to pod cast...
this is a perfect solution...

So, if I can watch/listen to it on my computer monitor, I can watch it on my TV using this setup?
What kind of computer resources are needed?
This info is coming just in time. I told my kids about SkyAngel dropping us and they are upset about losing TVU and all the childrens' programing.
Thanks and God bless,
Cindy

a DSM 520 can be purchased for 179-149.00
I got mine from best buy, for 149.00

I do have a fta satellite that has a 97 degree location....
Just like Glorystar but i dont have the adapter for the second bird at the tip of the dish....

anyways i have seen the list of channels at the other location and they really dont intrest me....

97 has a lot of variety....

for the Active- web tv style service you do need a media stlye box to view it....

A Xbox 360 can be used also with the Tversity software from your Computer...
Tversity is a Free software... Donations are welcome on the site....

YOu just put in the url of the site you want .....
And if you already have a xbox 360 and a router then you dont need to buy any other equipment.....

You could always try the Apple TV hook up. I've used it and it seems to work pretty well (I have it running from my PC, not a mac).
