The Free Set-Top Box promotion expires April 15, 2008. Sky Angel will provide a free set-top box to each customer that agrees to purchase and maintain in good standing an applicable subscription service for a minimum of 18 months from the date of the original subscription activation.

I wouldn't be surprised if they keep offering free boxes after that with commitment.

All service providers do this. This is nothing outstanding that Sky Angel is doing.
