I'm new to satellite.
I've ordered satellite with vip612 due to be installed Wednesday.
Should I be able to plug the vip612 to a monitor via hmdi to dvi cable with no problems? No problems, meaning just plug it in and power up and it works.
The monitor is a Samsung 245BW with a DVI-D input.

I'm not worried about audio at this point, all I want is visual to work for testing purposes. I just want the install guy to be able to hook it up, be able to test it and be on his way.
I'm looking at buying an hdtv, but wanted satellite service ready to test the tv when it arrives, so, if something is wrong with the tv, I can refuse delivery.

There is no reason why that shouldn't work.
