The pq looks great right up there with blu ray imo. Are these on D11?

Not to knock your test but comparing using 2 sets isn't the same as comparing using 1 set. Yes, you'll see differences in quality when comparing channels using 2 sets, that's a given. However if you see differences comparing channels using the same set, same dvr then I'd say it's the channel that made the difference.

As far as comparing ESPNHD to HD Theater I can see where you'd see more difference with ESPNHD. HD Theater already had a pretty good picture, ESPNHD did not.

I mis-spoke...I meant 2 receiver units, not 2 sets....both shown on the same 55" HD display.

I'd also agree that ESPNHD had more potential for improvement, and now shows it is improved clearly. I still think HD Theater is very good, but not a noticable change.

Remember: we have no clue how much compression is already in the signal on ANY channel when DirecTV picks it up, converts to MPEG4 and sends to us.

Results WILL vary from channel to channel...depending on their provider, most likely.

How come I don't get 306? I have 79 for HDN, but no 306?
