Came back right in time for House. Funny huh? They were trying to scare me.

Mine went out last night too, went out at around 6:15, and came back a little before 8. In the meantime, I called DTV, and they said there were no reports of any problems with the locals and wanted me to pay 80 dollars for them to come out and take a look.

Watching a recording of "Terminator: The Sara Connor Chronicles" made on 10/06 off of LIL channel 5 FOX WTTGHD Washington DC. Experiencing excessive pixelation, skips, freezes and bursts of staccato audio. Tried REW and REPLAY but didn't correct the problems.

ABC is not in HD for me. I thought it was just the programming but Jeopardy is usually in HD and it isn't either. I don't think I've seen any HD ads either. Anyone else having this issue? They better fix it before the Penn State game!

EDIT: Just called WJLA. They say they're open 8am-8pm but nobody was there to pick up, I dialed the emergency extension they provided and had the same issue. Is there any other option?

I'm currently getting the Penn State @ Ohio State game (well the pregame) in 720p. Are you still having problems?

If I recall correctly, WoF and Jeopardy are not in HD on weekends on WJLA. That used to be the case. Not sure if it still is.

I got through to someone about 2 minutes before the game and they said they'd take a look. Either they forgot to flip the switch or I was just imagining that it wasn't broadcasting in HD. Jeopardy is in HD, WoF isn't. It wasn't in HD that day and that got me worried because I was looking forward to the PSU game.

I'm experiencing very low volume levels on several of the Washington DC LILs. I'm currently watching LIL channel 4 WRCHD NBC and I have had to crank the HDTV volume level all the way up to 65 on a 0-100 scale to hear whats going on. I'm connected via HDMI and set for Dolby Digital audio.. This problem also affects the other major network LILs, ABC, CBS and FOX.

Watching any of these channels on a direct OTA antenna input to the HDTV and I can hear everything fine with the audio level set to 20-25.

I have the same problem with LIL WTTGHD FOX channel 5 Washington DC. I do not have this problem with WTTGHD OTA directly fed from external antenna to HDTV ATSC tuner.

Yes, same station. WTTG 5
OTA doesn't have the issue.
Is this an issue of the local feed to Directv?

Trying to watch "NBC Nightly News" on LIL channel 4 WRCHD NBC channel 4 Washington DC and the video and audio are dropping in and out for several seconds at a time. The screen goes black and the audio is silent during these dropouts.

Switching the HDTV input to the direct OTA feed from an external antenna indicates that the OTA broadcast is normal during these D* dropouts.

THE TITLE SHOULD SAY,
"AM I GETTING HD LOCALS?"

I guess I'm getting local HD, but I'm unsure. Here's an example:

I have 2 CBS stations listed in my guide labeled as follows:

9 WUSA - This one shows HD programs in the guide. It is clearly a superior 1080i picture compared to the 480i picture mentions below.

9 DC9 - This one shows the same programs but at 480i SD resolution.

I ask because Oprah on ABC says "HD" in the guide on my ABC HD channel but it has the black bars on the sides, and even though it says 720p, it's very fuzzy and doesn't appear to be HD to me.

Also, my 99 degree(s) satellite says "Not Aquired". It has ZERO signal strength, and I was told satellites 99(s) and 103(s) are used for local HD's. My 103(s) has one transponder that reaches 92% and one transponder that reaches only 22%.

I ask these newbie questions because some shows that say "HD" in the guide, don't look HD to me, and I'm getting picture stuttering and 2-10 second blackouts with loss of sound more often than I think I should.

Will monitor channel this morning and update around 10 am.

I have the same ongoing problem of severe pixelation and audio stuttering/woodpecker effect with LIL channel 9 WUSAHD CBS Washington DC. First noticed last night on 8:00 pm recording of "New Adv-Old Christine". Also problem is present on last night's 9:00 pm recording of "Criminal Minds" from same channel.

Seeing the same intermittent problem on live broadcasts from same channel today.

Watching "PGA Tour Golf: Northern Trust Open" on LIL channel 9 WUSAHD CBS Washington DC this afternoon from 3-6:30 pm and had excessive video pixelation. There was no audio distortion associated with this. Now watching "60 Minutes" on same channel and having the same problem.

I'm on my fifth or 6th day of this. Audio seems to be fixed but picture breaking up big time on CBS channel 9.

Have begun to see audio stuttering on fox 5 now and then.
