1-18-12 Channel 11 (WTVD) is completely dark, no video or audio... all other channels and local channels are working. Anyone else seeing this?

Getting frequent audio dropouts and occasional video glitches on FOX Channel 50... no weather problems.

Update: It doesn't occur on digital cable.

You're not the only one. Fox50 engineering is aware and has been on contact with DirecTV. Been going on for days...

Days is much too long for a problem this bad to not be resolved. :eek2:

Just to follow up: Problem appears to be corrected by 6pm this evening. I watched for about 20 minutes and didn't hear a single dropout. Fox50 engineering said that DirecTV made some changes late this afternoon.

Keep you fingers crossed.

The problem with WNCN (HD) 17 seems fixed now. I tuned to it at 9 PM and the sound was normal again.

It was back with a vengeance last night. There were a few jokes in my house about how DirecTV was dead set against us watching Ninja Warrior.

Yes. At first I thought it was just me, so I rebooted my primary receiver, but as it was coming back online I got a text from a buddy of mine griping about the pixelation and choppy audio.

Danged annoying, the locals are unwatchable.

Oh, hey, first post. :D

wow, HD is still dead.

As a recently new subscriber, I'm finding it really hard to recommend this service to people who ask.

It is not just Raleigh - the outage also affects Boston, Philly, Charlotte, and Greensboro, but only the HD channels. That is why I have an antenna in the attic as a backup.

Yeah this is rather irritating. Or maybe the reduction in Sunday Ticket pricing has led to balancing cuts elsewhere :)

Does this imply there's been a major satellite failure, or an uplink failure?

Certainly too long without any explanation.

It was not a satellite failure, because there was still a signal from 103s transponders 21 and 22 (which are the ones that carry the RDU locals) even when the channels were not being broadcast. It could have been an uplink failure, but I guess we will never know for sure. In any event, they were only out for about 23 hours.
