I posted in another thread about severe video stuttering issues on WNBC ch 4 (mpeg4). Tonight that seems to have cleared up, but now I'm getting the video stuttering on WCBS ch 2 (mpeg4). I recorded a program on WCBS on Monday night, 11/3 and it was fine, so this is a more recent problem.

I recorded CSI Miami on Monday off of Mpeg4 CBS, Last night recorded Life off of MPEG4 NBC and the wife recorded some L&O's off of MPEG4 NBC as well...so I'll chime back in after I get a chance to sit my fat arse down and watch those episodes to yea/nay the stuttering.

And tonight would be 30 Rock and the Office via MPEG 4 NBC as well...and I don't think I'll be home in time to try and record it off the HR20 on OTA to compare....

I've been meaning to bring this up for about a month:

For the last few weeks, my recordings of "Lost" on my HR22 have been starting "on time" according to the guide----but the SHOW itself is already about 10-15 minutes in by the time the 12:05 recording starts. The guide each week shows it's scheduled to start at 12:05am with the 2nd episode starting at 1:05 IIRC on Sunday AM.

So: Is the D* guide off? Did ABC change their start time and not tell anyone? Am I the ONLY ONE recording LOST off of D*"s HD channels? Am I stuck in the twilight zone?

Thanks!

Things were fine on the HD channels all week, now today WCBS has gone to s*** again. Constant video stuttering/freezing every 15-20 seconds.

Rain fade? WCBS, WNBC, and WABC all look fine. I switched to channel 88 FOXE, since it is working fine.

Just to add to the monitoring thread. WNBC HD (Channel 4) and channel 83 are stuttering for me today. HD Channel 392 is fine. I've noticed the same pattern (always channel 4, sometimes 83) of stuttering for weeks now.

On one of my HR21's this AM I noticed the following:

MPEG-4 NBC is an abomination.

I noticed it being REALLY bad this AM during the 6am news...and as others have said the MPEG-2 HD feed was fine on 392 was fine...and the OTA on my HR-20 was fine.

It fluctuates visually from scenes like you're watching one of those picture book type things where you flip the pages and you see the characters move (i.e. the video stutters and jitters) or the audio is so far off from the video it looks like you're watching a dubbed foreign film. In addition the crawl along the bottom stutters and jitters.

In addition, my wife was up to see Leno last night and she said the was VERY off on that as opposed to the timing of the video.

I flipped to the MPEG-4 feeds of CBS/ABC/FOX/WPIX and they seemed fine for the 1-2 minutes I was watching each of them.

Channel 4 WNBC MPEG4 is still a mess with viseo stuttering. How do we get DirecTV engineering to take a look at what's happening here?

Stuttering and audio dropouts or no audio with stuttering. Started last couple of months. My H20-100 and HR20-700 are both having this problem. Totally random. Different time of day. All kind of weather. My brother who lives 10 miles away is having the same issue. Standard Def Channel 11 WPXI is fine.

Per http://www.dbstalk.c...48&postcount=52

NYC 2/4/5/7 on D11 (99) TP#16.

NYC 9/11/13 on D11 (99) TP#20.

I have 100% signal strength here.

Interesting that PBS HD is on D11 just not turned on for us yet.

Not sure when they flipped the switch, but I'm getting thirteen HD now... finally! :) /steve

Ever since my locals in Burlington VT went HD, about a month ago,

I have a problem where the sound will buzz and cut out for about 5 seconds every now and then.

Only happens on the 4 HD locals I have available.

Any one know what is going on?

I echo above poster -- Hey Directv, what's the problem here, you gonna get this bloody stuttering fixed on NY local Fox or what. Every freakin week it's a problem -- your problem. Can you hear me -- I am now watching Charter Cable because your crap is unwatchable.

Same problem for me too. Has been going on for months now. If I tune to channel 88 or OTA it works fine so I don't see what could be so hard about getting this fixed. Does anyone even know if Directv is aware of these issues? I called them about a month ago but obviously it has done no good.
