What is a "good" signal strength for 129? I have been getting lots of breakup of the picture and the signal meter ranges from 45 to 50. Could this be the cause of the blocking pic?

is a hunk of space junk falling out of the sky. It won't be replaced till Jan.-March next year. Until then get use to signal loss. However, if you have a shot at 61.5 your problem is solved.

I just had a 'Dishmover' re-install at my new home for my Dish HD-only pkg.

The DNSC installer wanted to do a 1000.2 install pointing to 110/119/129, but I refused for the reasons stated above. I told him to do 110/119/61.5 instead, and after considerable head-butting about 129 elevation, LOS, signal strength and two-dish post mounting options, the guy realized that I wasn't just another dumb sub and that I actually knew what the hell I was talking about.

In the end, he did it my way with a Dish 500 and 300 mounted on a single pole, and a well-done wall-fish into my laundry room (the planned location of my future wall-mount component rack). Overall, a very good install once we came to a meeting of the minds.

All's well that ends well, but my advice for those who find themselves in a similar situation with a recalcitrant installer -- first, know your stuff then stick to your guns. It's your your subscription, your install and your property, not the installer's, and you're the one who will have to live with it after he's long gone!
