I just found out the hard way that not only is the guide incorrect for the PBS but both channels (one on 72, on other dish) don't air the same programs. As I sat down to view the HS football playoffs that I scheduled to record, I quickly noticed it was a man showing me how to paint a ****ty picture instead of a football game. Even though the guide says its football and all the shows appear the same, apparently they aren't. Upon switching to the other PBS (the second one) I discovered that foor\tball was in deed on there. What the hell? The moral of the story is that one more reason we need to keep the 72 dish is for LOCAL PBS channel....I think.

Correct. The first 23 must have national programing and the second 23 local. Not sure why that would be. I'm sure D* wouldn't have a clue and I'm not sure I even want to bother contacting SDPTV.
Have you confirmed that they are from separate dishes?

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS--NO FOX????????????

What's the point? FOX broadcasts HD to the local Sioux Falls area--not beyond about 20 miles, though, so, we, 50 miles away cannot get FOX HD anyway anywhere? We can't even get an SD signal.

Why can't we get a waiver so we can get FOX HD DN????

Why don't we have FOX HD? Does DISH have the FOX HD to rebroadcast?

We ought to then get the National FOX HD--how can we get that?

THE SD signal is JUST UNWATCHABLE!

What's the problem anyway?

I called a CSR and she said it was only broadcast in the evening, but I know that I at least should see 1080i resoluton even if the programming I see is not in HD--it's that way with the other 3 networks.

Who can we complain to about this?

Have you all sent your emails to KTTW and D* on this issue? edh@kttw.com

All I can say is I am damn glad I still have my HD DNS or I would have really been pissed. I can't believe they do that.

Not I. But I'm an SDSU grad so I was glad to see the game. I can see why you guys would be mad about it though.

I was bummed about the switch in games but I guess I didn't miss much. They did pick up the game after the State game though.

Thanks for looking into this! I always wondered why they didn't have FOX in HD too but since I have an OTA and pick up FOX in HD I didn't give it a lot of thought.

Now hopefully they add PBS and CW to the HD lineup but I don't watch them as much as the other channels. I watch FOX mostly for football, Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, and hopefully the new Dollhouse with Eliza Dushku will be good (I'm an Eliza fan).

BTW, I was also annoyed that they had the SDSU game on that night. I'm a USD graduate. But I'm not a big college football fan so it didn't matter that much to be but I know of others that didn't like it. I'm sure the local network received a few calls about it.

Having issues with FOX, the sound is cutting out and pixelation problems during Nascar races and also on American Idol.
No issues on any other channels just channel 17 (KTTW). Are others experiencing this also?
I have an HR-22 100 DVR and slimline3 dish.

With the Sioux Falls locals being HD now can I get rid of the second satellite dish? Or will I lose some of my channels if I do that?

I could be wrong but I believe we will only lose 36 which is still on 72.5.

I tested it tonight and you don't lose any channels. Directv is actually rebroadcasting the HD version of 36 CW now too. It even lists a couple of programs in the guide as being HD, though I haven't tried watching one yet to see if it actually is. So the good news is we can get rid of the extra dish. I just finished taking mine down.

Have not been on here for some time since nothing new ever seems to happen. I noticed that 23 KCSD is showing up as 1080i on my set. Has it been this way for a while or is this new? No HD logos in the guide.

Can we take down 72.5 even if we have older non-HD equipment, too?

Audio drop-outs on Fox Chanel 17 during House on 04-26-10. They replaced the Bbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrpppppppppppppppppp with dead air. Missed a great deal of the dialog.

I have also noticed during House and Fringe this past week where the screen goes black for minutes... not sure if it's a DirecTV issue or a KTTW issue.
