I just got a SWM8 and an HR220-100. I have not installed either yet. I opened the HR22 yesterday and noticed that the SAT1 port says (SWM-2) next to it. I know that I use the SAT1 port to connect to the SWM, but is there any significance to the "-2"? My plan was to run all my receivers through the SWM-1 port with an approved splitter. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

The -2 means that there are two tuners in use. People think that an SWM8 can run 8 receivers, in fact it can run 8 tuners, so for example 4 DVRs, or 2 DVRs and 4 regular receivers.
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect
those of DBSTalk.com, DIRECTV, DISH, The Signal Group, or any other company.
