They are saying that HBO is planning to offer the event free to cable and satellite subscribers, regardless of whether they have the pay channel.

Will it be in HD??

Will there be a special channel or will HBO turn on their regular feed to non-subscribers??

Why? The inauguration will be on every network out there.

My thoughts exactly. What could HBO possibly telecast that others can't??

I read a report that said the typical symptoms of stress were eating too much, drinking too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Who are they kidding? That's my idea of a perfect day.

I don't know either. Coverage of several of the Inaugural Balls perhaps?

HBO will kick off coverage of Inauguration Week with an exclusive Sunday, January 18, telecast of the star-studded opening ceremony, two days before the saturation coverage of President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration begins in earnest.

This will only be carried live by HBO.

It will be the regular feed. The HBO exclusive coverage on January 18th will be the last day of HBO's free preview (1/15-1/18).

We won't have to worry about HBO bleeping a few choice words or blocking out certain parts.

And for this people pay a premium? I guess HBO knows far better what their viewers want to watch.

If not for True Blood, this would get me to finally drop HBO. Not many movies, lots of porn, almost no HD, and now the O inauguration. Maybe I'll just start waiting for TB on DVD and drop the channel!
