Perhaps I'm a bit anal about this, but it bugs the heck out of me that they seem to have no intention to fix something so basic and simple.

Is there anyone working on it anymore?
About a year ago, I think it was Earl who reported that they were indeed working on the problem and that a fix would gradually be implemented.

Here I am nearing the end of my commitment with them and that's the ONLY thing that has me considering going back to Dish.

It irks me to search for programming, only to find that something I wanted to see is on a channel that my receiver thinks I get, but I don't.

No they have not given up on it.
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect
those of DBSTalk.com, DIRECTV, DISH, The Signal Group, or any other company.

Uh huh.
Would you like to share any kind of a project ETA or deadline concerning the fix?

I mean, DISH had it working perfectly 8 years ago.
Couldn't they get a DISH account under a false identity and just take a peek?

I'm sure they're too busy negotiating deals for all those new HD channels that will soon be lit up.

:P

I guess a "Yes" to a "Yes or No" question isn't sufficient.

As to when...when they get to it...it's on "the list". :D

You guessed right.
No prizes, however.

Notice Stuart was very careful not to answer that with a "yes" or a "no". E.g., could mean that despite their best intent, it may not be do-able.

Just do what I did if it bothers you that much. Create a Favorite list called "Main" adn put all the channels in it you get. Start by adding Channels I get and see what ones you need to add and delete according to your package. Or you could just subscribe to all the channels.....

Seriously this is what I did and deleted the "Churchy", shopping, PPV and copies of Sports Mix and GameLounge out of it. Works great.
My equipment:

18" round dish with a 4X8 switch on the garage

Used to work on my DIRECTV account with my DIRECTIVO.
But that's for another thread too ;)

dodge boy,
Yes, I have done that several times.
It works, but things change, such as the additions of new HD channels or previews of premium channels.
When I had Dish, and HBO or another top tier channel ran a free weekend promo, those channels would show up in my guide when the promo started and then disappear when it ended.

Also, I occasionally will do a full system reset, and when I do that I have re-create the entire list again.

I didn't call mine "Main", as you do.
I called it "Crap Free".

Besides all of that, it simply annoys me that they list "Channels I Get" as an option when it really isn't one.

Since "B" happened in 1948, that's not really fair.:)

Equipment includes a buncha stuff that I no longer have interest in detailing

I understand your annoyance I was just suggesting it as a short term eork around. On the otherhand I get TC+ and CIR seems to work for me..... It gets my RSNS that it should and all the other channels.

I agree. :)

How about this:

What happens 1st?
A) CIG is fixed.
B) The MPEG-4 DirecTiVo becomes available

(I assume CIG will work as well as CIR did on the HR10-250.)

They obviously don't care to make this feature work. It was 4 months ago when there was a thread saying there were going to finally get serious about it, and nothing much happened. I've noticed the same apathy with their channel offerings and receiver offerings in general. I think they have been bought and sold too many times to care anymore. A year ago they looked unstoppable, now they look like a sinking ship as their competitors have caught up and surpassed them. If it weren't for their exclusive sports offerings, I think many customers would reconsider keeping them as their provider.
