I currently have Family Package with the Sports Pack. I do not watch much of anything in the Family Package and was wondering if anyone knows if I could switch to the international package DirecTV Basic and still have the sports pack added to that instead? This would save me $20 a month, which in this economy helps.

Thought I would ask here prior to spending a half hour on the phone and not knowing if I can even do that. Thanks.

Try it, and let me know how it works. Be sure to call the international phone numbers so they know what to do. Be advised that you have to subscribe to a international package and the cheapest is 4.99 for some filipino package.

No I'm pretty positive you have to have a base package.
