Just an FYI that MSNBC will be going HD on June 29th. I tend to watch when I need a good laugh - I consider this channel the WWE of news.

Thanks for the info. I won't share what I consider Faux News. ;)
If you stop responding to them or put them on ignore, then eventually they'll go away.

Yeah, so I guess that makes Fox the WCW of news, right?

They should tell Directv they show sports (during the Olympics). Maybe that way they'll actually carry it.

A reminder to all, that political discussions are not permitted at DBSTalk, but other discussions of the networks are ok.
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect
those of DBSTalk.com, DIRECTV, DISH, The Signal Group, or any other company.

Unless News Corp. had already contracted with NBCU to carry this channel, we're not going to see it.

I could have sworn the following are NBCU properties currently carried by D*:

CNBC-HD
Bravo-HD
Sci-Fi HD
USA-HD
Universal-HD

That's the point...

Yes, but that doesn't mean that DirecTV currently has an agreement to carry MSNBC-HD.

I like to at least have a choice between the three news channels. Usually go to CNN for breaking news. MSNBC for political news and fox news for news of what the republicans are up to. I have been a little disappointed in MSNBC especially on weekends where they continue to run old documentaries. I was really hoping that when microsoft dropped out they would have blown up the old MSNBC and rebranded it as NBC News Channel and revamp the whole thing. Seems they are doing a few things right with their viewership increasing.

LOL LOL LOL!!!!

And if a tree falls in the forest, oh well, never mind... (Actually, in fairness, I think MSNBC just passed CNN in total viewership. Nevertheless, it is a pretty low rated channel.)

I feel the same way about Fox but I think ALL the news channels should be in HD.

Given D*'s policy of not announcing anything ahead of time, we probably won't know until 6/29 when the channel goes live.

Given their policy of not adding national HD channels, I can tell you right now that we probably won't have it on 6/29, or anytime soon after that.

It's surprising that MSNBC is so far behind the times.

I agree. That's a major cable network still without an HD channel.
