Nothing about it was a surprise. But so much about it was surprising. All I can say is that we didn't figure the one element out because it was so cleverly diverting.

Who was involved in the cliffhanger wasn't surprising, since we learn so much on the internet about contract negotiations, but the how's and why's were.

Just watched it - really good episode.
I do, I offer a complete and utter retraction. The imputation was totally without basis in fact, and was in no way fair comment, and was motivated purely by malice, and I deeply regret any distress that my comments may have caused you, or your family, and I hereby undertake not to repeat any such slander at any time in the future.

If it is the one I'm thinking of, I'm going back to rewatch it just for that..ala "I see Dead People".
Thanks to Google search, people can appear to be smarter than they really are.

Too bad about George I thought him joining the Army would have made a good spin off. It is justa matter of time before we have an Iraq war US Army hosptial show. Any way I was surpised that he was hit by the bus. This was a very good episode.

I don't understand how she figured out it was him from "007" in her palm.

Emily Deschanel (Bones) was on a talk show recently, and when asked about the finale where the ads clearly showed her and Booth in bed together, she said (and I'm paraphrasing) "The idea is to give folks what they expect, but in an unexpected way." I think along with Bones, the Grey's finale succeeded in doing that as well. /steve

I don't understand how she figured out it was him from "007" in her palm.

In the first episode (!) it went something like this: George got to scrub in on an appendix, pulled the tie-off string too hard breaking the sack, Burke had to take over and clean things up. George got tagged as "007" with the teasing that he had a "license to kill." It was mentioned only one or two times in subsequent episodes.

It was also mentioned in the season finale. I believe when they were eating in the cafeteria.
If you stop responding to them or put them on ignore, then eventually they'll go away.

The wife was wondering if they were going to kill of Izzy during the surgery. I figured, if anything, they would pull a Lucy from ER. After she was stabbed, she made it through surgery only to die from a complication.

My bet is that Izzy comes back, but George sails off into the sunset.

Weak. I totally missed it and so did my GF. When Meredith went running to everyone and said "It's George!" we both looked at each other and said "WTF?"

We now have at least part of the real finale of the season. George is gone according to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello.
