The attachments to this post cover all DIRECTV Channels and Transponders, both CONUS (Continental US or National beams) and LIL (Local Into Local or Spot beams).

Three PDF documents provide the data for DIRECTV Satellites at the 72.5W, 95W, 99W, 101W, 103W, 110W and 119W positions, formatted in three ways:

  • A full listing in Network Number sequence
  • A full listing in Channel Name sequence
  • A full listing in Channel Number sequence
Three supplemental documents are also provided:

  • A Transponder and Network Number Networklist reference sheet. This information is particularly useful in understanding the LIL data.
  • A Network Decoder map showing the satellites and transponders graphically as they appear on your receiver's signal strength display.
  • And for those of you who prefer to work with the data in Excel, a file roll_your_own.xls is provided.

All documents are fully unprotected so you may copy and use the data as you wish.

Thanks once again to Doctor J. Without his work, none of this would be possible....

Please provide any feedback you can to help keep us honest. Remember, we have only been at this monitoring task a short time, so there are definitely high probabilities for errors.

If you find errors - please let us know:
- a listed channel you should receive does not exist
- a listed channel is shown on a sat not covered by your dish and yet you are still getting that channel
- a listed channel is shown on a tpn that your receiver shows as a zero signal and yet you are still getting that channel

We can acquire and format all this data with great accuracy. But interpreting the data - now that is the challenge...

Thanks,

Thanks for the hard work collecting and parsing the bits, gct. :goodjob:

It looks like the two PBS stations in the Nashville market are actually showing HD versions of their proper feeds now instead of just filling up the bandwidth with dupes of out-of-market RSNs like our MyNetwork and CW affiliates. I guess/hope that means we'll be getting at least SOME new HD love here by the DTV transition date Friday. Time will tell.

PDF of Directv Network List has been Updated on 1st post by gct.
I have added Lafayette Indiana. New HD LIL market (#614 DMA 189) not previously even in SD.
1st LIL market to be added since HD LIL rollout started that was not previosly represented in the SD market.

Also data capture of 6/5/2009 for some unknown reason did not capture guide data representing Ka LIL channels for 8 "B" markets.
F/U relook of data has "found" them.
gct should be updating lists soon.

Missed markets are:

527 - Baton Rouge LA
528 - Beaumont-Port Arthur TX
533 - Birmingham AL
535 - Boise ID
536 - Boston MA
538 - Buffalo NY
539 - Burlington VT
540 - Butte-Bozeman MT

Pure SD channels not affected but Ka HD channels missing.
But no more.
Please advise if other data gaps found

Not sure how many folks, if any, might be interested, but the attached Excel file is a listing of all the OTA (Over The Air) data associated with the 06/05/09 data capture.

There are over 5,500 channels listed - just one heck of a lot of data.

If it is interesting or of value, please let us know.

This is helpful, especially as all of the changes are made to OTA channels. It would be interesting to see an updated one from the past couple of weeks after the DTV transition. I'm still waiting on a couple of changes from DirecTV/Tribune/local station that still aren't on my OTA listings.
