LG on Thursday introduced two new lines of HDTVs that support instant streaming via Netflix's "Watch Instantly" service.
The TVs build on LG's existing relationship with Netflix. Last fall the CE maker introduced a Network Blu-ray Disc player that offered a similar streaming feature, and has since added the functionality to a pair of home theater systems as well.
According to LG, the new HDTVs with "NetCast Entertainment Access" require no external hardware, allowing Netflix members to simply connect them to their home broadband network to access the company's online content library. The launch includes 47- and 50-inch LCDs, available now, as well as 42- and 60-inch models coming later this summer.
