Ok, I've started watching Burn Notice. I got seasons 1 & 2 from well, other sources. Anyway in 2 occasions They mentioned "DirecTV Sunday Ticket HD" and "DirecTV HD" referencing how good the picture is at a 60" HDTV. My question is DirecTV a sponsor or something? I've never heard such placement before.

This is becoming a common practice. Product placement is the new "commercial", they figure if they can't get you to watch commercials they will stick the products in the show.

When I was growing up, if you saw a detergent box it said "detergent" on it... everything you saw was generic. Now it is plainly labeled and turned directly to the camera.... and they are paying for the placement.

The other day I saw some Mac computers in a police station setting... what do you figure the odds are of a police station budget allowing for Mac computers?

LOL Larry.

I'm a cop, and well, we don't have any Mac's. We are lucky to get the cheap ole HP's!

DirecTV and NFLST got a couple good plugs in on Leverage last season. :)
