NEW YORK, Aug 13 (Reuters) - News Corp. <NCP.AX> on Wednesday said it expects to gain regulatory approval for its $6.6 billion acquisition of satellite television company DirecTV by the end of this year.

"We're pleased with the progress to date," said Rupert Murdoch, News Corp.'s (nyse: NWS - news - people) chairman, on a conference call with analysts. "We remain hopeful the transaction will receive necessary approvals by the end of the calendar year."

Have a Great Day! :) :flag:
