EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug 19, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- BlizzCon® 2009, Blizzard Entertainment's sold-out gaming convention celebrating the global player communities that surround its Warcraft®, Diablo®, and StarCraft® game universes, will be televised live in crystal-clear HD on Aug. 21- 22 as a pay per view event available exclusively to DIRECTV customers nationwide. In addition, DIRECTV is also providing gamers from around the world with access to BlizzCon 2009 via a new live internet streaming option.

This DIRECTV-produced event, hosted by Geoff Keighley, will deliver 18 hours of live, crystal-clear HD coverage from the show floor, including the highly-anticipated closing concert headlined by the "Prince of Darkness," Ozzy Osbourne. Streaming coverage of BlizzCon 2009 is available for $39.95 and free to DIRECTV customers who purchase the pay per view event. I'm not getting it this year. I felt pretty ripped off from last years as it was very poorly produced. The cut out 1/2 way through the WoW Dev Q&A last year which is the entire reason I got the PPV.
If it ain't in HD, it ain't worth watching!

yes they are serious - have seen tickets go for close to 1K US each on epay.

Blizzard has become such an unholy beast. I'd pay maybe $5 to see Blizzcon. It's supposedly 18 hours long, and even if someone were to actually watch the entire 18 hours, that's over $2 an hour. I mean give me a break, they're really bending people over a barrel here. I just want to see cool Starcraft 2/Diablo 3 stuff.

The only thing I saw of value to this package was the Ozzy concert. But I'd never pay for that!!!
