While cleaning out my garage I came across a new-in-the-box satellite dish. Hard to determine the age, but the box indicates the model number as:
DS4120RE AXI

Is this dish useless today?

Thanks

It can be used to get the core D* SD programming and also locals in a bunch of larger DMA's.
No longer doing DBS work, but missing every moment of it.

No undamaged dish is useless; a parabola is a parabola is a parabola.

A deeper question is what you'd want to use it for.
Yes, FTABlog is active again. Why do you ask?

Good question, FTA - The trash collector doesn't come again until Monday morning, so I think it can be used to weigh down the garbage can until then.

Thanks for your replies.

Did a google search and got this Amazon page:

http://www.amazon.co...m/dp/B00004SSRA

Best part? DirecTV (and Amazon.com) have been around a lot longer than they've been telling us:

Date first available at Amazon.com: September 4, 1973

I have two of them. If you want, I'll send mine to you and you'll really be able to weigh down the garbage can.
