Just got a new receiver from DTV along with a 2 year commitment, which I was cool with. They sent me a HR21-100? I know there are hr-22's and hr-23's? Is this receiver old/refurbished? What do the 22/23 buy me on top of this HR-21?

Thanks,
Chuck

there would be an r after the full model number for refurbished, eg HR21-100-r.
and there are still new HR21 units out there.

The HR22s have a larger hard drive (Double the size/recording time), and the HR23s have the larger hard drives, plus don't need the BBC attachments (The wide band tuners are built right in).

They won't swap it. They consider them the same. Which I don't think is right. You paid the same price for your HD DVR as somebody who got an HR22 or HR23, but you have half the recording capacity.

No 2nd.. Original one is a HR20-700 i think. Old silver box.. Got a new Samsung LCD and wanted something to match.. Paid what everyone else does when you have a 100+ bill a month, nothing.. But when you make deals you assume your getting the 199 DVR u see in Best Buy not a refurbished older model.
