If you stop responding to them or put them on ignore, then eventually they'll go away.

I think that's another satellite.

There has been no news of Boeing even delivering DirecTV 12 yet.

348? That's not a channel.

While a channel might appear before D12's launch, the next launch for ILS is:

MISSION CONTROL: W7

• Satellite Provider: Thales Alenia Space
• End User: Eutelsat
• Purpose: Digital broadcasting services
• Date: November 23, 2009
• Time: 09:19 EST; 14:19 GMT; 20:19 BKT

Most of the months have been spoken for through April. There is a rumor that DIRECTV may be trying to call in a favor for a launch on Christmas Eve or around New Years day but I can't imagine that would be very popular with the launch staff.

Kazakhstan is 47% Muslim and 44% Russian Orthodox (although I suspect that the launch staff is mostly Russian). The Orthodox Christmas is on Jan. 7.

A goodly number of the ILS staff are Americans. The company is headquartered in Reston, VA after all.

Witnessing and/or participating in the launch will undoubtedly be representatives from DIRECTV, Boeing, ILS and Khrunichev as well as some government watchdogs.

Obviously, DIRECTV isn't very much in the driver's seat at this point.

Yeah, I've had much lower paying and less important jobs where I've had to work over holidays. Launch it already!
