They are still the local feed. In my DMA, Bismarck-Minot, PBS is only SD for some reason and DirecTV crops it instead of taking the -2 feed that is letterboxed.

You dug up an old thread.:) In November DirecTV will start offering our locals in HD, but I don't think PBS is in the lineup. Only, time will tell.

As I said last November, our PBS offers three OTA channels; -1 is HD (possibly the national feed), -2 is the locally produced content and -3 is Create.
DirecTV since '96, Waivers for ABC, CBS, NBC, & Fox, HR23-700 & HR24-500/AM21, using ethernet based MRV.

The worst thing is that we get both nhptv and wgbh but neither in HD. You should be able to get channel 11 ota with a decent antenna. It does stink to not get any NH locals in HD.

I know.....
No local news in HD From WMUR:(

I think some of you may actually be seeing the reason...

Issues over subchannel carriage.. I have to question how much of an HD signal is there after a PBS channel adds 2 or more subchannels.

Money... I'd give really good odds that there are money issues, especially involving WGBH.
