I have a HD H23-600 receiver and are having signal problems on the HD channels only. I have had a tech out 2 times and he said the dish is fine.
So I was thinking of borrowing my mom hd receiver and hooking it up at the same time with same line to see if the singnal goes out on both or just one.
So can I use some type of splitter to do this

Note cable is 100% good tested.
Signal goes out cloudy, not cloudy, day, and night

We need to know more about your setup to answer your question.

1. Is this the only receiver in the house?

2. What kind of dish is the receiver currently configured for?

3. How long ago was your current dish installed?

4. Have you checked the signal strength statistics?

As for whether you can use a splitter for this, unless you are on a SWM setup the answer is definitely no.
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect
those of DBSTalk.com, DIRECTV, DISH, The Signal Group, or any other company.

Use this template:

Fill in your readings for each satellite and tuner using these examples. A properly aligned dish will show 80-90s on most of the relevant transponders (although some will be low or zero):

Satellite transponders (32 total at 101º)
[Most of your standard definition channels are beamed from 101ºW]
1-8 # # # # # # # #
9-16 # # # # # # # #
17-24 # # # # # # # #
25-32 # # # # # # # #

Satellite transponders (3 total at 110º)
[A few HD channels, also beamed from 99 & 103º]
1-8 NA NA NA NA NA NA NA #
9-16 NA # NA # NA NA NA NA

Satellite transponders (11 total at 119º)
[Local SD channels for some cities, Spanish package]
17-24 NA NA NA NA NA # # #
25-32 # # # # # # # #

Your dish needs to be better aligned for 99 & 103. If that doesn't bring their levels higher, then the dish [reflector] needs to be replaced as it's bent.

agreed with VOS, 99 and 103 is low and your dish needs to be tweaked. crossing fingers that the reflector isn't bent.

Low levels off 99 & 103, with good levels off 101, "and" the tech not being able to improve them by aligning the dish.
There have been a couple of "bad dishes" out there, though it's rare [and maybe this tech hasn't seen one].

I will say he doesn't have a birddog he uses the box to point the dish and how about plumb problem.
I want to fix myself but I watch video on setting this up and it looks like a bit5h

Edit
Could it be the receiver at all

I use my receiver to align my dish [several times].
It does help to know what the adjustments do, so you don't chase your tail all day, but it really isn't that hard.
The mast being plumb "helps" but even one out of plumb can be aligned, though it takes longer and you "really need to know" what the adjustments do.
"I would" use the fine adjusters to see if 99 or 103 would improve. "Just looking at either one", would show if alignment was the problem. If you can improve the levels, then it isn't a bent dish, but merely a poor alignment.
How long has it been since the tech last came out?
You should have 90 days to have them back out [for free] to "resolve" your problem.

"It could be" many things, but "probably" is where you need to start and that's the dish.

Having run across a few bent reflectors, it can be darn near impossible to see it with the naked eye (or a dressed eye for that matter :P )
