I have a Hughes HDVR2 with a replacement hard drive. I have been getting this for a while now. I used to get some Programming Guide but now, I am not getting anything. I just get "To be announced" for all channels. From Google-ing, I found that this can be a cause from a faulty software.

What gives? Is it the software or do I need to reinstall my InstantCake CD again for this unit?

P.S. I have a Samsung DirecTivo S4040R in the bedroom without any problem.

You do not have to re-install an InstantCake on the hard drive. Just a simple menu RESET from the menu would suffice. However, you will see the same message after the RESET. In a while, my Programming Guide is back to normal. :)
