Comcast does not own the Phillies. In fact, the Phillies own a part of CSN Philadelphia. Comcast recently sold he 76ers.

I did not know that. But do they still own the Flyers?

Yeah, the Phillies ownership group owns i think 20% of CSN. Now the Flyers are completely owned by Snider under the "Global Spectrum" family i think.

In addition to this, the when the 76ers were sold they signed a VERY long term contract with CSN. So the Flyers and 76ers are locked up.

the sixers new ownership actually is paying snider RENT and snider there still getting the revenue from CSN philly. the sixers are locked into CSN until 2029.

I'm not sure if the new ownership gets any part of revenue for team improvement. But basically in a way snider still owns the sixers, he makes money off of tv revenue and rent, but he doesnt have to pay any expenses, its like the best of both situations.

You guys are gonna be waiting untill the end of time. The Padres on the other hand did the right thing and left COX 4 and made their own network with FOX. Just wait untill the TV deal expire for the Phils and then you can say "FOX Sports Philadelphia", but for now, you're gonna have to pay two bills to get your Philly Sports fix :x

I havent heard any news, but phils contract with CSN philadelphia ends after 2014 season, they do own 20% of the network.

so will see if they like that and will continue or, venture off.

Since the two are linked in ownership, I can't imagine the Phillies would dump Comcrap to start their own RSN. Comcrap just has too much power over everyone in Philly it seems.

Chill out, dude. Before you spout off, do you know who was responsible for feeding Tirico the info?

I don't care who feeds who anything.

when you have your announcers saying they are doing all the game 6's that means.

you expect to have seen ESPN to do the game6's.

last friday they did 4 games 2 on espn 2 on espn2. so they could and have should had that game on national TV.

I realize plans change, but a blackout shouldn't in-sue when a national provider says they would pick it up.

I'd sue for emotional harm. Why would ESPN have last night's game anyway? Oh, do you have any more inside info on CSN Philadelphia from some random tech? I miss those updates.

...we had come to the end of all the senseless postings about this, it's started all over again. Comcast Philly isn't coming to DirecTV. Black outs will continue. If you want Philly sports give in and purchase Comcast or Verizon....

We now return you to your regularly scheduled moaning....

I'm in (comcast country) here in mill hall. But they won't run the cable to my house because I live to far off the main road, and they also have to cross railroad tracks and said the poll is not high enough to clear trains because thier cable has to be underneith electric and phone wires. I even offered to help pay for the cable run. Pay a year in advance for high speed internet and the top cable package and get some of the other people that live up here to subscribe to their cable. But No...Thats when they brought up the poll not being tall enough. My phone companys is Centry Link no other choice there. And they black me out on the internet and satelite. Seems some people on here have a choice but just don't want to pay. And yes you are right they are the moaners. I can't get CSN no way no how. And then when I do get games on Satelite, ESPN etc... 80% of the damn games are blacked out. Yeah they ran the cables to get the easy to run to people but they shouldn't be able to black out games unless they atleast offered to run to everybody even if the charge them extra because they live 300 feet off the main road.

Trexbrain....I feel your pain. I live just outside of Loysville in Perry County. We have no access to cable so satellite is my only option for tv. At the same time I am in the Philly blackout area so if I get any of the sports packages, I get blacked out on Philly sports even though I live 140 plus miles from Philadelphia.
We are truly the forgotten ones in this whole mess.
I am getting more and more pessimistic on Directv getting Comcast Sportsnet Philly. There seems to be no information coming out. Also there have been no posts lately on anybody writing to Directv or the FCC and getting anything of note.
Very frustrating!!
