I believe a new deal was signed within the past year, and it's likely a multi-year deal.

Yep, because D* made a reasonable offer to Coincast for the Root Sports channels, while Coincast wants $5 a subscriber nationally for CSN Philly and CSN Northwest.

Where did the $5 come from? and RSN can't be nationally.

CSNNW is like $2.50+ per sub and area cable co's don't want it at that price.

but CSN Philly is on fios and other systems so is comcast tieing CSNNW to CSN Pilly. for $5 for both? now what about TCN? $2+ a sub for that makeing CSN Philly and CSN Philly + / TCN $5 a sub?
I want CLTV / CLTV HD on direct tv.

comcast knows that if they let CSN on D that many will flock to D and rightfly so, and they want to still get paid so thats why they are charing such high rates.

i wonder if they will try and package all of the CSN's and any taht come out future into 1 sports package.

call it the CSN sports package if they did that watch that be like 15 bucks or 20 bucks a month

but they don't own all the CSN in full and some are part fox owned others the teams own 50-75% of network.

YES Network is under $3/mo per sub according to many estimates in the industry. Cable companies in Pennsylvania and New Jersey can't be paying more than that.

All Flyers/Sabres games other than Game 6 will be blacked out in Philly if you don't have CSN-Philadelphia.

Versus and NHLCI will be blacked out.

First, part of this in the northwest is likely that Directv favors Root Sports (formerly FSN) because it owns it. Of course, the more access CSN NW gets the more it is competitive on programming it can take from Root sports. Right now some sports events/teams want nothing to do with CSN NW because of it's access problems.

Second, CSN NW is a part-time channel. They show old movies quite a bit. So Directv does not want to pay top dollar for a channel that doesn't have that much programming outside of the NBA and some Oregon Ducks events, which it will be losing in the future to the Pac 12 network.

Unless Comcast wins the Pac 12 rights and then puts the Pac 12 Network games on CSNNW...which would be a nightmare.

Yes it would a nightmare. We all know Comcast will do whatever it can to screw us all in this process. I hope that the Pac 10/Pac 12 is really aware of this and understands that this is really a credible threat to the viability of the channel.

well they can push it and say if we come to CSNNW then comcast must lower the price or have some kind of min sub number. versus was close to going under one when they there off D*.

I was listening to The Fanantic today and they said the Sabres/Flyers game would be on Versus in Philly. If true, do you think they'll still black us out?

Opening page on the Flyers web site says 7:30 on Comcast Sportsnet.... My guess is we will be blacked out just like when the Fyers are on the NHL Network for the rest of the country.
