Since the fair market rate is offered to D* why not take it? The ball is officially in the Direct TV end of the arena.. Play ball ****ers.
The NHL playoffs are under way, the Phillies season has commenced.. This just plain stinks for Philadelphians.. I can not wait until Fios rolls out city wide. I hope D* loses significantly more market share. I truly do.
Other than Verizon, who in your area carries the channel other than Comcast? Verizon has been known to pay whatever they had to in order to get channels on the air and get subscribers. Something a startup has to do. There is no way Comcast is offering a fair market price in comparison to other RSN channels in other markets, they have a monopoly right now and are way overcharging. I wouldn't be surprised if they where asking espn money for it. They'd have to have a way for making up for all the customers they would loose.
And if you hate DIRECTV so much for this, why don't you get Comcast for now and get your games? I would not go without my favorite teams just for a service provider. If the Lakers channel doesn't end up on dtv, I'll have to go to cable next fall, which is horrendous, but if it has my team and DIRECTV doesn't.... Content is king.
And have you heard anything recently on Fios? Last I heard Fios and uverse and paused all their expansion plans. Maybe not in Philly?
