I hope they add some 1080P HBO channels.. That would be nice...

If there were any 1080p channels I'm sure they would add them.

Of course they will add a bunch of HD premiums soon.

Because I dropped Premier last week and won't be able to see them!

(I didn't drop it because there aren't enough HD premiums, but because my viewing habits have changed and I'm not watching anything much right now.)

I'm sure I'll pick them up again someday, and the new ones will be appreciated.

Equipment includes a buncha stuff that I no longer have interest in detailing

I sure the hell hope the DirecTV doesn't waste HD bandwidth on both an east coast and west coast feed of the same channel. Its just delayed 3 hrs, we have DVRs for a reason people.

Pick one or the other, don't waste valuable bandwidth on both east and west feeds of the same thing.

Wouldn't "EncoreHD" be a new channel? I don't think it is in HD now.

Since D* already has all of the Encore thematics, I highly doubt they would bother adding Movieplex, since it's just a duplicate of the other Encores on a rotating daily basis... ;)

We really like the option of being able to record the later version of something if it's not convenient to do it now. Take that away now and there’s gonna be a lot of upset people...I’m just sayin’

Yeah, I forgot that they already added the West coast HDs of some of those channels. It just baffles me, but I can see that sides argument.

I just look long term, in 18 months if we get tight on bandwidth and are still 6-12 months from a new bird going live, I hope they consider dropping those 13 west coast duplicates.

Yep they should delete all the west coast feed movie channels.
Dont they repeat most movies like 10x during the week anyway if u have a dvr conflict.

That might not be so convenient for the westcosters when the new movie premier comes on at 5 or 6 p.m., but I see your point.

i agree that redundancy is foolish, so lets drop the east coast feed. do we really need a duplicate feed of what we already get on our west coast feed?
nothing like having way too much sports programming . . .

Hopefully any bandwidth saved could be use on other Channels even if it's channels I don't watch.

West Coast feeds of Linear Movie channels quite possibly the single most bandwidth wasting use that D could employ.

I understand others will disagree.

While I don't care if its the west coast or east coast feed they keep, i think the east coast feeds would win out.

Logically, it would seem to be a bad business decision to show programming at 11pm on the east coast, rather than at 5pm on the west coast. You'd lose more viewers by having a show premier at 11pm on the east than having it at 5pm on the west.

I really think the population density is greater on the eastern half of the US than the western half.

Uh, I ONLY said Movieplex...I DO understand Retro & Indie ARE different.
But as I said, Movieplex just rotates among the 7 other Encores, & as such, is just another (band-wasting) duplication of existing channels.
