Two problems here:
1. The 500 channels are reserved for Premium movie channels- the ones you pay extra for. FMC and TCM are in basic packahes and MGM, HDNew and (one would presume, Hallmark Movie Channel) are in the HD Extras pack. Why would they put them in with the premiums?

It would be nice if they did put them all together, for channel surfing purposes. Many times when looking for movies people only go to the 500's and forget about the other movie networks that are scattered around the channels. I know certain networks pay more for certain spots, but putting all of one type together makes it easier channel surfing.

I respectfuly disagree. Having those west feeds helps me to avoid sheduling conflicts. Especially on Sunday and Thurday nights when I have both tuners recording from 8 to 11.

It does help with scheduling conflicts a bit, but really almost all of the shows/movies are shown multiple times throughout the week on each channel anyway. So rather than recording a showing 3 hours later on the west feed you would probably just have to record it a day or so later on the east feed.

Found this on twitter, Question to Directv:"@DIRECTV Any truth to the movie channel changes listed http://www.pdisat.com/newchannels.php? If yes when was DirecTV going to tell us?"

Directv response:"@t18c97 It is correct . A page is planned for our website to confirm. We notify partners first so they can prepare for customer questions."

Sorry if this posted before, but I didn't notice it.

I wonder if they are adding more HBO and Cinemax channels (really hope they are) if they are going to raise the price for the premium packages, say from $15 to $19 for HBO and $12 to $15 for cinemax. If so would be hard to subscribe.

We just had a price increase so I don't think you will see another one for a while.

That and their current prices for HBO/Cinemax/Showtime/etc are already inline with what other providers charge even if they carry all the channels (D* and E* both charge $16 for HBO even though E* gets more channels and more in HD).

That Directv.pdf labeled "Better!" has bad channel numbers, for example:

553 The Movie Channel East (should be 554)
554 The Movie Channel West (should be 555)
Frank TiVangelist since Aug 1999, HD since Dec 2002, DirecTV since Aug 2004, DECA/MRV since Nov 2010
HR24-100 > HDMI > Pio 5020FD plasma
HR24-100 > HDMI > Sony KV30HS420 tube

It wasn't an official release. It was that poster's "dream" lineup.

So now that movement has started, do we know for sure what will happen with our old recordings? Will they need to all be set again? For instance I'm recording the Showtime series Nurse Jackie and The United States of Tara. Will they update by themselves? What about certain movies?
