So it's March 31 . We were told that ESPNU would be in HD .What is the reason
that its not in HD yet ? I have had two price hikes on my program package with no new channels added . I pay $114 plus tax . And thats before all the extras .

another broken promise by DirecTV.. what do you expect? They are sweeping this under the rug like they did the Vancouver Olympics.

I think the original press release from 2009 said something like "end of 1st quarter 2010".

I read on here that directv has room to turn on some new HD channel without useing D12 because the NFL Sundy Ticket season would be over to free up space .

To those upset: What do you want? An apology? A lollipop? A hug? You'll get nothing.

It's not here, everyone with a sense of reasoning knew it wouldn't be on, and Directv doesn't care how much we complain.
If you stop responding to them or put them on ignore, then eventually they'll go away.

D12 isn't up and running yet.

Or even in place.

I beg to differ. On the DIRECTV site it clearly states “now with the capacity for 200+ HD channels”

While of course DirecTV dropped the ball here, it really doesn't matter as long as it in place for college football season. I highly doubt there is a lot of HD programs being shown on ESPNU right now. I bet it is less than 10% of their current programming this month is in HD.

You are correct that they announced it would be available in the first quarter of 2010 [link], but they still have several hours to meet that deadline.

Unless theres more college hockey to be shown on ESPNU (the frozen four is on ESPN2), I dont care until college football season.

I mean, what the hell are they gonna show between now and then? College Baseball? Baseball is the sport that requires HD for enjoyment the least.

I love how people throw around the term "broken promise" as if DirecTV actually promised something.

When they made the announcement I am sure they had every intention of airing ESPNU HD by March 31st. But going into a nerdrage hissy fit over DirecTV not being able to predict the future and delaying a few things for a month or so is ridiculous.

Actually, D12 is not up and running yet, nor in it's projected broadcast location. That is a statement of fact. Just because D* has advertised that they NOW HAVE the capacity for 200 channels does not seem related to D12's status.
