722 Is there any way to play video files from an external HD?

I was wondering if there was a was I could play video files with the 722 from an external hard drive. Not DVR files buy regular video files such as DVD rip and the like. Kinda like using the 722 as a media center. I hooked the external drive to the box, but it didnt see the video files.

No, sorry... You can connect a thumb drive (maybe even an external hard drive) that has JPGs and show pictures... but not video/movie files. The only video/movies that the receiver will play are ones it put there itself if you enable the external archive feature.

Yeah I figured that after I tried it. Is ok though I got the movies working on the PS3 anyway. Thats probally a better media center anyway.
