I have 2 HR21-200 DVR and am able to record shows on them and watch them on either one of my DVRs. I know it still says beta on my menu system. So what is the difference between this and the whole home DVR?

The beta was free and ends this Thursday. The Whole Home DVR is the same thing but will cost you $3/month to have it enabled, other then that it's the same.

See post My Setup for configuration info.

nothing. The Whole home DVR service is what happens after May 20th when this free Beta ends.

Whole Home DVR seems to be the brand name that directv is calling MRV, kind of like VOD=dod directv on demand.

I guess they figured it'll sell better after the beta period if they change the name too.:)

Because you don't have the Connected Home Networking.

It means that the DirecTV systems don't show you having the "Connected Home" networking, which is a SWiM LNB or switch and DECA network adapters installed on your system. You need to read the thread http://www.dbstalk.c...ad.php?t=176749 to find out the problems/issues to get DirecTV to enable MRV on an account that doesn't have "Connected Home"

See post My Setup for configuration info.
