I just got a robocall from D* apologizing for the issues yesterday and letting me know they had already identified the problem and fixed it.

Everyone shoudl be receiving that call eventually (well at least most).
It is not exclusive to the CE people.

It's a nice gesture, I think.

Really though, 18 million phone calls?! I can just hear it by the time it gets to me:

Hello. This is DIRECTV. Several months ago, due to a transmission error, you may have had an interruption in service. If you can remember that far back, we apologize.

Got my call yesterday. I think it's great that they've done it. Maybe this will calm all the spinners down.

I figure 33. $ an hour, of my time to reset boxes.. they owe me credit.
Just a joke, but, their computers must have been working overtime.

All the fellow technicians here will get a chuckle at this one...

Let me tell you how annoyed i was to see 1-800-531-5000 show up on my personal phone as an inbound call.......

My first response was... What do they want with me today, i'm off today ..... followed 1/10 of a second later by What this is my personal phone:mad::mad:......

then i answered it and it was the robocall and all was well with the world again:rolleyes:

I saw the apology on FaceBook, but I knew it happened when it happened, my screen froze :). I was awake. Fixed mine before most were awake.

It's nice that Direct recognized the problem and apologized.

But, some credit applied to my account would have been so much more meaningful!

I've never received an outbound robo call from DirecTV in 10 years. But, that's okay. I know their number. ;)
