I am thinking of switching from Directv to dish. What is the likely hood of dish losing the dvr function due to the litigation with tivo?

You have a better chance of getting hit in the pinky toe by a meteor and having it fall off than Dish does of losing their DVR's...

Dish is still fighting the lawsuit, but they will likely lose it in the end. But if/when that happens, Dish will have no choice but to write TiVo a big check to license the technology, because they have no plans to disable their DVRs. To do so would be the end of Dish Network, so it won't happen.
