eRecycle them if you can.

You should not, because that's not ecologically friendly. Submit them for e-cycling.

Does anybody know of a listing for these places?!

Living in South Georgia, I doubt there's many of them around... :(

I have an old Hughes HTL-HD receiver... as well as some broken DVD recorders...

Our local sanitation department has a trailer at the dump where you can drop off monitors, computers, etc., and they arrange to have them recycled. We have to bring them there, tho. They won't take them as part of the regular trash pick-up.

I know Best Buy takes in a lot of old electronics. May want to check with them.
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect
those of DBSTalk.com, DIRECTV, Dish Network, or any other company.

There are several websites to search for recycling locations, here is the [link] to one of them.

Not any place like that here. Again, recycling is not very big in this area.

Thanks! That was what I was looking for...

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there is anything local to take them. :(

Who picks up your trash? Private or municipal? Our town picks it up, so they have a dump.

My county has several dates for dropping off household electronics. The next one is 7/27. You can also drop stuff off at the county landfill.
DirecTV since '96, Waivers for ABC, CBS, NBC, & Fox, HR23-700 & HR24-500/AM21, using ethernet based MRV.

D10-300
RCA DTC-210
Samsung SIR-ts360
VOOM Motorola DSR550
 :nono2:

I decided to keep the D10 and the DTC 210 to replace my (2) HR24s. I was able to find a place pretty easily that would recycle the HR 24s.
Thanks for the info folks.
I am having some difficulty getting all of the channels now however.
Perhaps I Misremembered.

I still have a ts360 that's still in use.

I set up OTA in the conference room at work and use the tuner section to pick up the the new digital signals.

Works great. I know it would probably be better to spend the few $ for a new converter. But, hey it was free and it works.

No, because letting her throw them away will "break the ice" so to speak, and she will be wanting to throw all the other toys you have away :D

Finally. That's the first thing I thought of. Fortunately, my wife has more stuff than I do or I'd be fighting that battle too.

In all seriousness, a lot of charities would be thrilled to get electronics that work. I give all my old TVs away and never have a problem finding a charity or folks in a bad financial situation that can use them. If they work, you can make some people pretty happy by donating them. I gave up on the Salvation Army, they are so backed up with stuff that they now pick and choose what they will take. And you have to wait a long time for an appointment. Last time I made a big donation it was to Catholic Charities. Or some such name.

Our township dump also has a place for them.

It wouldn't hurt to give it to Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. They should take it; I saw a first-generation DSS box at one last year!
