Since it costs 2.4¢ to produce a penny, my 2¢ worth is really 4.8¢ worth.  That 4.8¢ is my own and not the 4.8¢ of DIRECTV, Dish, or anyone else for that matter.

OK, then add the Sports Pack to your programming.

Thanks for your vote. :)

If I had to make a choice I would rather have the U. But since I don't have to make that choice I'll take both.

Unless ESPN Classic gets an HD simulcast, this isn't even a choice. Even if that happened, I still think ESPNU is better.

Shouldn't this post be in the DirecTV Programming Forum?

Personally...I don't watch either...

I like Classic Sports. It provides vintage viewing. Last Sunday I enjoyed watching the rise and fall of Mike Tyson. I suscribe to Premier and HD Extra Pack. I also suscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket and MLB because the black out rules render Sports Pack null and void!

I will keep the "Max Baer vs Max Schmeling" on my dvr over 99 percent of the programing on ESPNU.

It appears that you are in the minority. Beyond old boxing highlights, I believe the channel is really no longer needed. The NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, Golf, Tennis and Speed Channels have all made the need of this channel useless. I just don't see why channel is needed unless you like classic wrestling. HDNET even shows that.

I agree. But at least with Classic Sports there was always something to watch. Turn on the Sports Pack menue and your choices are: Infomercials, To Be Announced, "Talk Show" choices and some games you really want to watch but then the pesky black out rule applies!

I would rather have the Classic Sports channel from 10 years ago versus what is on that channel today.

DirecTV subscriber 1999-2011, 2012 - present
Comcast subscriber 2011-2012, 2013 - 2014

Your right. Would have been nice if they announced the move using the "TV Mail" feature instead of the useless crap we get mailed to us.

I should say I love to watch vintage games from years gone by. Especially from my youth of the 70's. But they show very little or not enough of that IMO. Many of the games they do show are shortened down versions and not the entire game. I think ESPN could do much better with this channel but they choose not not to. Probably for financial reasons.
