After the SWiM install takes place, do I only have to have 1 cable to my DVRs to record on 2 tuners?

yup, I wouldn't have got DirecTV if they didn't have it since my house is pre-wired. Running another line wasn't an option and of course I wanted 2 tuners.

Yes, as long as the tuner(s) in question are SWiM compatible. It will say so on the back where the cable input to the tuners is received. I think it is usually by the first tuner input to the left as you look at the rear of the unit. I say that only because I have not seen every manufacturers version of every compatible tuner.

Any HR2x
