This is a heads up for those who have the Sports Pack and looking to tighten the belt a bit.

I initially called to remove the Sports Pack and explained to the CSR that I am cutting down on costs until I gain better financial footing.

Almost in an instant, I recieved a promo offer for the Sports Pack -

$2.99 for six months (as opposed to $12.99), effective next billing cycle.

Pretty sweet deal if one asks me.

It is a good deal. They gave that to me last year as part of my compensation for VS being pulled. For what I watch on the SP, it was only worth $2.99 to me. I mainly watched the post game shows for my favorite NHL team and hardly ever watched anything else on the RSN channels.

Almost the same here, except that I like watching YES and MSG, as well as other RSNs for the latest sports news from a local perspective.

It would cost me $8 w/o a deal because of my premiums. The upcoming soccer channels are the only reason I would have it due to the pro blackouts.

I occasionally watched the local sports shows in different parts of the country and sometimes found them interesting. Especially the ones that were in cities that had division rivals of my team.
