I am having a problem that just started a few days ago. I would like to know if anyone else is having this problem. This problem happens on both of my HDDVR receivers. For most of the day I receive channel 631 YES Network then at some point I get the searching for signal 771 message however when a game is on I can switch to channel 632 YES Bonus Cam and that comes in fine while 631 still has the same message. Sometimes 631 comes back and sometimes it doesn't. It also happens on 639 SNYHD. It has nothing to do with the HD signal because 632 is HD and the same broadcast also. Additionally late yesterday afternoon I was watching a show on FXHD and the same thing happened there and remained that way for the rest of the night but only on those 3 channels. Today they are all on fine again.

Have you looked at your signal strengths? Tried a menu reset? Are all of your connections tight? My sister had a similar issue and it ended up being an LNB problem

Thanks for the reply. I've checked the signal strengths but I don't know what I am looking at. It didn't seem to me that it could be a signal or LNB problem because it only happens on those couple of channels and I get the same program on YES' other channel. Thanks for the advice.

BTW, yes my connections are all tight. Also what is a menu reset?

YES HD comes from D10 TP8 and YES Bonus Cam HD comes from D10 TP9.

SNY HD and FX HD, like YES HD, come from D10 TP8.

My guess is that you're D10 TP8 signal is marginal.

Menu-->Setup-->System Setup-->Reset-->Restart Receiver will get you to a menu restart. My sister's issue only dealt with some channels as well while others were fine. Post your signal strengths and maybe someone can help.

Today I am having the same issue with ESPN on 206. It seems to be the only channel that is problematic and I am not getting it on all my DVRs. I am noticing that on 99© I am getting a signal strength of 0 for all the even transponders. Is this an LNB issue?

This looks like the "even transponder lower" issue. I seem to recall that this might be an elevation problem. The key is to compare readings when the channels are turning a 771.

Thanks for the suggestion. I may have to get a technician come and check it out. It just seemed strange to me that it only happens at certain times which is usually late afternoon and evenings.

Radio transmissions of all kinds are affected by air density, temperature, all sorts of things that happen during the day. It's possible the signal is marginal and sometimes it just gets pushed off that cliff.
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect
those of DBSTalk.com, DIRECTV, DISH, The Signal Group, or any other company.

Is there anyway to tell if the signals that effect those channels are marginal by the signal strengths I posted here? Those were taken when the channels were off and showing 771. Thanks.

The signal levels were far from low enough to create the issues your experiencing.

The regularity suggests that this isn't a random occurrence so there's a better chance of pinning down the problem.

Thanks again for the help. I called DirecTV tech support. I was told that the next time it happens to unplug my SWM for a minute and then reset my receivers. It is not happening now but I'm sure it will again I will post back here to let all know if that works and if it does then maybe it will help someone else too.

Well it happened again today so I did what I was told to do by the DirecTV technician. I unplugged my SWM for one minute, I then plugged it back in and I reset both of my receivers. After it went through it's reset process the channels were still 771 no signal for a very short time (less then one minute). The channels then came on and have been on ever since. I don't know if that fixed it or it just would have come back on by itself. I will post again if it happens again or if it stays this way.
