I am totally perplexed. I have an HR24 in a room with a Norcent LT3222 television. When I use the on screen menu set up the remote code for the TV, a screen comes up and asks you to press vol+ to check if it works. When I do this, the volume works. Then I press "it worked" to go back to normal operation. When I do so, the remote no longer controls volume. I have tried moving the switch on the top to TV, but still nothing.
The remote is the RC-65RX.

I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks.

Memorize the code that worked, turn off the receiver and program the remote directly:

1. tv
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release
3. enter tv code

If the volume still does work, try the following:

1. tv
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release
3. enter 9 9 3
4. press SELECT

if still doesn't work, this next:

1. tv
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release
3. enter 9 6 3
4. press CH UP

here's the thing. The new HR 24 does not tell you what the code is. It just shows up as the model number for the TV. It does it automatically.

This is almost certainly why Edmund recommended turning off the receiver when programming the remote.
